Interview with Attractions!

I'm very excited today, because I get the chance to interview a band! It's my very first interview on this blog, so my fingers are kinda shaky and I can't stop smiling as I write this. 'Cause honestly, I never thought I would be interviewing bands.
So on that note... Let me interduce, indie/rock band, Attractions!
They hail from Washington DC, and have an awesome single out, New Fire.

Here's how the interview went down...

Q. How did you get started?
Attractions started out in 2005 when myself (Josh) and Zeke (drummer) first started being homeschooled. With our schooling we had a ton of free time and no transportation, so we would ride bikes back and forth from eachother's houses and practice. At the begining we were more of a White Stripes cover band than anything else, haha, our name was Priceless Enuendo back then.

Q. Where do you get your inspiration from?
We get our inspiration from tons of things, most of the time it would be from God, or books we read. But all four of us listen to a ton of music all the time from a ton of different genres, so a lot of it comes from that as well.

Q. What has been your favorite venue so far? And what's your dream venue?
Houses are our favorite venue! haha, no really. House shows are amazing, we love meeting new people on a personal level, houses let you do that, bigger venues I think seperate fan from band sometimes. As for a dream venue? A HUGE HOUSE SHOW!, or a river boat show...ether one.

 Q. If you had a chance to interview a musician who would it be, and why?
Myself? Tom Waits, without question. He has so much to tell, and he is very good at telling. It would be an amazing interview no matter what questions I asked him.

Q. If you could thank somebody for helping you fulfill your dreams as a musician, who would it be? And why?
Well, my dreams have yet to be fullfilled as of yet, but thats a good thing. Up to this point though would be my father. His support for us has been incredible for the past 6 years. and it has only gotten better.

Q. If you weren't involved in music, what would you be doing in life right now?
Probably not a lot, hah. Making movies with my friends, we like to make sketch comedy videos that get 300 plays on youtube lol.

Q. Is there any other musicians that have influenced your music?
Tons, as for this record, mainly As Cities Burn, Thrice, Trophy Scars, Mono and tons of others.

Q. If mom was going to make your favorite home-cooked meal, what would it be?
Stuffing!!!!

Q. What do you do in your down time?
Promote. hahah so I don't really have much down time, Attractions is a full time job, as well as my other full time job.

Q. Have you had any really embarrassing mishaps on stage?
Luckly nothing extreme. Just some instances of wanting the next part to be really heavy and emotional and we miss a pedal or something and it doesnt come out right.

Q. How do you guys feel about your new single?
We are extremely happy with how it turned out. After not being in the studio for almost two years it was strange at first, but our producer Mike Douaire and our mastering engineer Roger Lian were awesome throughout the whole thing and helped us obtain a product we were all very proud of.

Q. What positive message do you want to send through your music to your fans?
 Nothing is Random.

Q. What are you guys currently working on?
We are working on booking shows and getting ready to get into the studio full time and make this dang album! Talking to as many people we can, trying to generate interest in everyone about local music.
