First Solo Artist interview!

I first discovered David Andersons music on PureVolume last year.
I loved it right away. Well, his music definitely left an impression on me, because that was about a year ago.
And I still remember it. I don't remember half the bands that talked to me on PureVolume.

So when I started interviewing bands on this blog,
I thought, hey why not ask David Anderson?

So here's how the interview went down...

Q. How did you get started?
Well I have always been passionate about music and I started
writing and playing when I was 13. I've been in various bands too.

 Q. What other bands/musicians influence your music?
Bright Eyes (anything by Conor Oberst), Neutral Milk Hotel, Sigur
Ros (Jonsi), Modest Mouse, Fleet Foxes, Noah And The Whale

Q. How long have you been involved with music?
 Hmmm... For over 4-5 years.

Q. If you could thank someone for where you are today, as a musician. Who would it be, and why?
My producer/instructor David Spencer. He has really help me grow as
a writer, singer, and musician. He also just helps me get my stuff out
and get more professional with what I do.

Q.If you weren't involved in music, what would you be doing in life right now?
I'd be doing a lot more art and graphic designing.

Q.What positive message do you want to send through your music to your fans?
Definitely write music to express yourself and be honest. Don't
worry about trends, popularity, money, just think about the art of
expression and the beauty of showing your soul through music
.

Q. When you aren't writing music, what do you do?
I paint, draw, graphic design, and watch The Office haha.

Q. Pirate or Ninja?
Pirates are more manly, but ninjas are more deadly.

Q. Do you have any hobbies other than music?
 Art, poetry, just discovery

 Q. If you had a chance to interview a musician, who would it be? And why?
Conor Oberst. He is the most real, and passionate
singer/songwriter that I know and he is such a big influence to me.
He's one of  my biggest inspirations.

Q. Do you have any guilty pleasure music?
Hahaha yeah probably stuff like They Might Be Giants
, New FoundGlory, and HORSE The Band. Random haha.

Q. And finally, if you were stranded on a desert island and could only take ONE album, what would
it be and why? (Btw, you magically have a music player running on batteries)
