GENRE: Christian / Hardcore / Metal
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC
LABEL: Facedown Records
BIO: Onward To Olympas charged onto the scene with the release of their debut album "This World Is Not My Home" (Jan, 2010) and are back again with their sophomore album "The War Within Us." OTO has meticulously cultivated their sound, blending progressive metal, straight hardcore, and elements of death metal. Once again they enlisted the help of Jamie King (For Today, Between The Buried And Me) to engineer their new record and that, combined with the matured direction of their writing make for an even more seasoned, technical and ear catching release. Onward to Olympas toured for the majority of 2010 and appeared at Cornerstone, Sonshine and Purple Door festivals. This spring will see them touring on the way to and from Facedown Fest on the 2nd annual "Facedown Young & Wreckless Tour," and plans for the rest of the year are already in motion.

(interview questions answered by Kramer Lowe)
How did you guys get started?
Long story short, the band got together and had a different vocalist. I played in a local band at the time when I heard the vocalist was leaving. So I tried out and made it, we booked studio time and recorded our first full length together, got signed and went from there.
Can you describe Onward To Olympas's sound?
We don't like to stick with one type of genre. We tend to blend all of our musical interests in one. It could range from really heavy, fast technical parts, southern, and even melodic.
Are there any bands/musicians that have inspired your music?
Obviously the bands I've listened to while growing up. All of us have a big variety of musical taste. I really like Misery Signals and they kind of inspired me as I was developing into playing with bands.
Do you have a favorite song to play at shows?
My favorite would have to be our new one, 'From The Mouth.' It's probably the heaviest song we've written and has a lot of high energy in a live setting.
What has been your favorite band to tour with so far?
Got to go with my boys, In The Midst Of Lions. We all still talk a lot and it was our 2nd tour and we grew pretty close to them.
If you could go on tour with any band, who would it be, and why?
I would either choose Parkway Drive or As I Lay Dying. I've been a fan of those bands for a long time and they are huge!
What is the craziest thing that has happened at one of your shows?
We've had 2 proposals for marriage at our shows, so I think that's pretty crazy.
What has been your favorite venue so far?
That is a very very tough one to answer. It probably would be Murray Hill Theater in Jacksonville, FL. There have been so many awesome venues though and I can't think off the top of my head!
If you could give a message to all your fans, what would it be?
I know it's super cliche to hear, but thank you all so much for supporting us. You all have helped us live the dream we've had for a long time and it is amazing to go out and play music for people that enjoy it and mean something to others.
And lastly, if you guys could thank anybody for your success who would it be,
and why?
First would have to be God. He has provided this band with countless amounts of blessings and the right path to where we've dreamed of going. The staff at Facedown Records for making this all happen and putting in lots of work and promotion to get us where we are. Jamie King for producing and helping us grow as musicians and the things he's taught us in the past. And all of the fans for purchasing the CD's, T-shirts, coming out to shows, telling their friends about us, etc.Members:
